new office hours

Since some students have conflicts with my office hours and possibly there will be no 2 hours that will fit every student's schedule, I will extend my office hours to Tuesday 10am-5pm in SHB 911. Please come to ask questions. I would be happy to explain anything starting from lecture 1. You can also come to discuss about your course project.

lecture 7

Today we go over some basic skills in analyzing sums and products of number sequences. There are some differentiation and integration techniques used in this lecture. For those of you who have not learnt calculus before, don't worry about it since these will not be asked in homeworks and exams. But I would like to show these because this is a general principle in deriving closed form formulas and/or to approximate the sums and products. Feel free to leave questions and comments.
